My Students

I am a first-year, bilingual teacher at an elementary school in an impoverished area. My school was destroyed three years ago during Harvey, and Bilingual classrooms lack supplies. My current students were starting kindergarten that August and families are still trying to rebuild. Some cannot afford basic supplies for their children.

My bilingual students lack the supplies and resources necessary to help them succeed in school.

Since Bilingual classes are self-contained, students need manipulatives and other supplies to help keep them engaged and learning throughout the day.

My Project

My students do not have any type of manipulatives or classroom technology for learning and I have been teaching the "old school" style, printing a lot, and doing the best I can. My students will use the math manipulative, cards, games, and more to learn in different ways. This will get them engaged and excited to learn in in all modalities. Most of them are below grade level and need a lot of help, encouragement, and resources to help them learn, understand and become proficient in English. These items would be a blessing and a great help for my students.
