Loving Literacy

My Students

My students are eager, keen, and have an unquenchable thirst for books. They are always excited to get to read a book whether it is on their own or they are being read to. They love being able to leave the classroom with their imagination and explore different worlds that books take them to.

To my students, reading is a magical gift that they are given every time they open a new book.

They are deep thinkers and they love analyzing the character and discussing character traits that they notice. They also love being able to discover the themes, life lessons, and other reading skills.

My Project

These books will make a difference in my classroom because they will help students who may not be on grade level, enjoy grade level books. By being able to listen to someone read the book instead of reading it themselves, it can increase their reading level and gives them a place to go to with their imagination so that they can enjoy books.

"Wonder" is a great example of a book that students might not be able to read on their own.

This is a great book that teaches students about loving themselves and not judging others. It helps them to escape their world and see someone else from a their point of view. With an audiobook, any student can learn with Auggie as he endures 5th grade and become a part of his world.
