Help me give my students paper, highlighters, bookmarks, paper towels, tissues and other in person school supplies and digital resources to enhance the time they spend in the school library.
This is my first year teaching in the school library in a large PreK-8 public school. The library has just been reopened this year after two years of closure due to the pandemic. I work with all different types of student populations, including general education students, special education students, gifted and talented students, and English language learners.
I want the school library to be a community-oriented place where all students feel supported and welcomed, and I strive to provide materials that are most appropriate for the diverse types of learners that visit the library each day.
This is why I am requesting a variety of supplies to use with different groups, including writing paper with space for a picture for some students, as well as highlighters for text annotations by other students. The tissues and paper towels will help create a clean and healthy environment for all! And the resources available on the TeachersPayTeachers site will help engage students by providing both print and digital resources that can help all learners reach the information literacy and inquiry skills that are appropriate to their grade level.
