Loving Learning In Kindergarten!

My students need a variety of 5 phonemic awareness games and activities and a place to store the alphabet tubs.

This project is fully funded

I am a Title I teacher working with kindergarten students in a low income neighborhood. Throughout my day, I work with approximately 35-40 students from different kindergarten classes who are struggling with reading or math.

Because of the poverty level in the community in which I teach, many students come to school never having been exposed to activities that introduce basic phonemic awareness skills such as identifying sounds, letters, and rhyming words. Believe it or not, many students have no knowledge of nursery rhymes or the concept of letters. While our school does have some materials for these students to use, they are beginning to show wear and tear or are not age appropriate for kindergarten students.

My students need engaging, educational activities to make up for the learning they have not received at home. The materials I have requested will provide these kindergartners with an opportunity to learn nursery rhymes, rhyming words, initial sounds, ending sounds, and letters of the alphabet. Not only are these materials educational, but they are engaging and attractive and will keep the interest of my learners.
