Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

These first time kindergartners are in a first time classroom that needs your help! I am asking for your help in purchasing many educational games and some organization tools to help take students from learning letter sounds, to reading, to independently writing their own sentences! The first year of learning is amazing, and our kindergartners will count to 100, learn shapes, and how place value works. Students learn by listening, seeing, and doing, and with your help I can assist students in achieving measured growth in every domain! Every game is designed to reach each student on their level so they can grow and be successful. Thank you for taking the time to help me!

I am excited to be able to provide an equitable, fun learning environment for my students!

Reasearch shows that by breaking down whole group lessons into differentiated small group instruction is the best way to help each student. Time with the teacher is only part of the learning. Fun games that emphasize lessons taught in class allow students to practice for mastery in an engaging, meaningful outlet. Gone are the days of boring worksheets; today are kindergartners learn with collaboration, curiosity, and critical thinking!

I am a teacher with 15 years experience, but am transitioning to a new kindergarten classroom. When teachers leave their classroom for a new one, we have to leave our materials, so my brand new classroom has none of the key resources needed. I want nothing more than to offer my students the same learning opportunities as their fellow classrooms. I have chosen games that are reputable and promote independent learners. With your help, our year will be great!
