Lovely Leveled Literacy

My students need these leveled reading books and CDs. Characters like Amelia Bedelia, Frog & Toad and the Case of the Missing Monkey are children's favorites.

My Students

Teaching two different grade levels on alternating years is a challenge and so is keeping a fun, interesting classroom library that is full of grade level and reading level appropriate books. I desperately need to beef up my library so that I am able to meet our new state standards.

My students are a great mix of kids from many ethnically diverse backgrounds.

I teach in a Title One school so funding is very limited and many of our students are on a free and reduced lunch program. Though my students face many challenges they come to school willing and reading to work hard. They make my job so fun and rewarding.

My Project

With more books from the different genres my students will experience a better-rounded education. These books would also help me to meet and exceed our state’s new standards. Living on an island also limits our experiences, so reading and learning about other places and taking adventures with character in books is the next best thing to engage my young readers.

Donations will improve my classroom library and will allow my students greater choices in the books they have available to read with a variety of non-fiction, fiction, poetry and other genres they are bound to be intrigued and enjoy the many adventures the books will take them on.
