My Students

I have such awesome kids in my class. This rural community has welcomed me into their midst. My kids are very involved in the local events. They will go to school all day, and then their family will also go to the sporting events happening in town. I love when I walk into the high school gym and 18 kids run to say, hi!

On a typical day I have all 15 students who are ready and eager to learn.

We are on a 4-day school week so every minute counts. Working towards a goal and accomplishing it is a great mindset to have in young children.

My Project

My students are third and fourth graders who have learned to read and they love reading new books. They have learned to write and are beginning to express their own thinking using words. As they begin to fine tune their reading and writing crafts, dictionaries and thesauruses will give them access to a new world of worlds. Their world is getting so much bigger as they read. Dictionaries open up their worlds and allow students to learn new words. As the students write their stories a thesauruses will be a great resource for them to make their writing more interesting.
