Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to listen and to read all different types of genres. I love to expose them to concepts so that they are aware of what is happening in our world. I believe that all students can learn by listening or reading a good book. My students will have discussions with each other about what the book was about. They will reflect in their journal about the book. They will illustrate and write what they learned.

"A good book will take us on a new adventure!" We are asking for a 10-book bundle- Lee & Low Anti-Racism Collection, they will learn how we need to be careful to avoid and learn what we can do not to be racist.

I am also requesting Creative Teaching Press Life Cycle Books so that my students will have books on different life cycles. Students will use these books when we are studying life cycles during Science. They can read and do a project and then present to their classmates. This will help students develop skills in presenting in front of other students.

My students love to learn new concepts when they listen to good literature. They then begin to look for other books that can build on their knowledge. They will sit at the library center when they have finished their assignments and look and read a book of their choice. My favorite part is when she finds something new and they come up to me very excited to share what they have just learned.
