Help me give my students a wonderfully fun end of year poetry unit study book, a sequel to a book we read in the beginning of the year, "Love That Dog".

My Students

The students in my amazing class are some of the most hard working and adaptive students I’ve seen in my 10 years of teaching. I teach in an urban school in a special education classroom. Most of my students have learning disabilities and are well below reading level. My students rise to the occasion every lesson and are able to tackle really hard grade level texts despite their disabilities!

My Project

In the beginning of the school year we read the book, "Love That Dog". Students were so invested in this book and many said it was their favorite book they have ever read! The book we are asking you to donate to is called "Hate That Cat", a sequel to the book we read in the beginning of the school year.

Students in my class are well below grade level, and having them invested in reading is one of my goals as their teacher.

When reading a book that is part of a series, students see reading as something that is fun and often want to read more "series books".

These book will be used with students who are in person as well as at home. We will be personally delivering these books to students who are still learning from home. With these books, students will be able to end the year with holding and reading a real book. This year, students have read all books in a PDF version. Your donation will help our class discover the power of reading again!
