My Students

I have an amazing group of kindergarten students that absolutely love school!

My classroom gives them the opportunity to grow and develop through play and exploration- the way children learn best.

They build knowledge, develop their ability to get along with others, and explore a variety of learning styles. They are caring, empathetic and so much fun. They come to class eager to learn every day. They cooperate and work well together.

In class they enjoy reading books, writing stories and exploring math in everyday life.

My Project

The books I have selected will help my Kindergarten students learn to read through repetition and reading books at their instructional level.

We currently have very few leveled titles, so students would love new, updated books.

A variety of fiction and non-fiction will provide choices for all students.

Having students spend time reading text on their level helps to improve their comprehension, fluency and overall confidence as a reader. While students have high-interest books to choose as well, they develop their skills by practicing reading books at their level. It is so important that they are holding and exploring physical books in their hands.
