My Students

I work at a school where 98% of the students are eligible for free and reduced lunch. Many of my students are learning English as a second language and most do not like reading.

I want to get two book sets for my class so that I can teach them how to read for fun.

I do not have any novels that my class can use for instruction and I feel this is important since they think reading is not fun. This is your chance to bring a love of reading to my students. Thank you for your help!

My Project

Students will have a copy of the book that they can use. Right now I do not have any novels that I can use with the class. I would like to get these books into the kids hands so they can learn to love reading like I do. I also can lend them out to students to read at home.

My students will read the novels and discus them as a class.

We will focus on vocabulary and reading skills while having fun with the books and their characters. I hope to improve my students views of reading.
