it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a resilient group of young people. They are strong advocates and facilitators of their learning. Together, we are cultivating an equitable learning environment where everyone is a teacher and everyone is a learner.

My Project
This 2021-2022 school year, my 9th & 10th Grade Culturally Responsive Mexican American Perspective English Courses, received over 400 books from the community. For many of my students, these were the first books they ever owned and read cover to cover. This inspired a lifelong love for reading in many of them. Inspired by this, my students have come to together in hopes of inspiring this same love in others.
Our goal is to reach 143 students with 143 books- the week of Valentine's Day.
The paint and brushes we are requesting will help us create posters, decor, and art- to promote a love of reading all over campus. Our mission is to make reading accessible to youth in our community. With your support, we can make it happen!
