This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Love of Reading Week -- this year it's from February 8-15 -- is a week that attempts to inspire and motivate students to love reading! This year, my colleagues and I want to give our 500+ students a book to take home and keep. The books selected for this project are culturally responsive, written by BIPOC authors and about BIPOC experiences. I'm hoping that with these books, students will see themselves and it may inspire them to read more.
The love of reading starts with just one book.
With this project, each student will receive one book in a decorated Valentine's Day baggie! What better way to share our love of reading with our students because sharing the love for books with our youth can transform their hearts, their minds, and our world.
