My Students

I love seeing a smile spread across my students' faces when they finally solve a tricky word on their own. Our school serves students who are faced with several challenges coming from a low-income and high poverty school neighborhood. Many of my students began the school year below grade level in reading proficiency. Providing them with highly engaging books to read will help me keep their reading progress moving forward. I hope to see my students continue their progress this year with new books in our class library.

My Project

These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. They spend time digging through book bins, carefully making decisions on which book to read next. Every student book that is picked from my library is treated with love and care. My students are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. Some of these titles we will also be reading in upcoming reading units of study. Students will be able to choose books, and students will continue to develop their love for reading thanks to your help.
