My Students

My students are eager, excited, and love to explore. They love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! Each day, they come to school ready to try new things and take brave chances to grow both personally and academically. Our school is nestled in the heart of Brooklyn, in East New York City.

Each child in my classroom loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.

We incorporate various learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met right where they are! They are indeed an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners excited and ready to learn each year.

My Project

My scholars need multicultural books that they can relate to. I want to have a collection of books for the classroom library to give them hope and lift their spirits. Currently, the books in the classroom do not represent the community's current demographic. I noticed that my scholars’ eyes perk up when I share a book with characters that look like them. It gives me joy when one of my students says, ”That’s me.” I need these multicultural books that I know I will be interested in and read more.
