Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is blessed with students from Cuba, Afghanistan, and even all the way from Nigeria. Learning the English language can be extremely intimidating and I want my students to be able to freely access resources to practice and expand their English knowledge.

Our 6th grade students take pride in being supportive and encouraging of all classmates and when one student wins, we all win.

Language is power - it can be discouraging to not be able to express yourself to your teachers, friends, and classmates. With these resources, my students would be able to grow their English language skills while also increasing confidence and classroom culture.

High interest literature, flash cards, and practice tests are all ways that my students can gain exposure to the English language. Having these resources readily available in our classroom will encourage students to practice and will promote a positive relationship with learning and academics.
