Help me give my students pudding, Oreos, gummy worms, flower seeds, flower pots, cupcake liners, plastic scoops, hooks, and reading comprehension workbooks to complete various life science activities!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hey, my incredible donors! I want to create a super engaging life science unit for my students centered around the amazing plant life cycle. Imagine this: we'll be building edible soil cups using pudding, crushed Oreos, and gummy worms to represent the soil layers. Then, we'll plant real flower seeds in little flower pots (using cupcake liners for easy cleanup!) so the kids can observe the whole process firsthand. It'll be messy, educational, and totally unforgettable!
To make this all happen, I am requesting some vital materials!
We need supplies to make those delicious soil cups, plenty of flower seeds, individual flowerpots with hooks (so they can easily watch growth changes), and plastic scoops to get our hands dirty! These hands-on activities will reinforce the plant life cycle.
Beyond the edible and plantable, I'm also hoping to provide reading comprehension workbooks. These will offer continued learning through reading, writing, and drawing what the students learned. It's all about creating a well-rounded educational experience that sticks with them.
