My Project
This school year, I want to provide a better science lab experience for our students here in rural Alaska. Our school is small and remote, and resources are limited—but our students are full of curiosity and creativity. With better lab tools and materials, I hope to bring science to life through hands-on, place-based learning that connects directly to their environment and culture.
Access to lab equipment like microscopes, beakers, and sensors will allow them to engage in experiments that mirror real-world science—testing local water quality, studying soil samples, and investigating energy sources.
These tools will not only support STEM learning, but also boost student confidence, collaboration, and critical thinking. My goal is to empower my students to see themselves as scientists, problem-solvers, and future leaders in our community.
