I came back to teaching in 2019 and taught for 6 months before education changed forever. Watching these incredible students navigate the challenges of a pandemic has inspired me over and over again.
This year I am teaching 6th grade students who are equally strong, resilient, incredible, and struggling after 3 years of pandemic learning.
The are able to adjust to changes at a moments notice and are masters of technology, but there are many learning and social gaps we are working hard to fill.
My Project
As these incredible students navigate education in a pandemic they are being asked to step up to learning in many ways and in many locations. Remote and hybrid learning are requiring us to connect with and help students learn via technology.
As a teacher, I am so very grateful for technology and the way it helps me connect with and create a variety of learning experiences for my students, but it also presents challenges.
These supplies will help students avoid some of those challenges of learning via technology by making that work on a laptop, whether at home or school, more comfortable and accessible. It would make a big difference for these students to learn without the added issues of broken or unavailable headphone and worn out trackpads.
