My Project

As a new 6th Grade Physical Science teacher, I want to make our room fun, festive, and inviting for these kids to learn science. I want games, toys, and creative materials to help provide that type of learning environment. These items will be used as a carrot to do their work and play at the end of each class period. Some of these games will help encourage interactive and cooperative learning, drive critical thinking, and provide the necessary games for them to do that!

As a teacher, I also need to be comfortable to teach.

This old old chair I inherited is torn, doesn't move well, and needs a pillow to just be able to make it through the day.

In Lahaina, HI it has been a tough last year for these kids since the fires. Many lived in hotels, were traumatized by the fires, and have had their little lives turned upside down. As a middle school teacher, it is my responsibility to offer them a fun and safe environment to come each and every day.
