Lounging While Reading Makes learning Fun!

My students need fun and cool, yet comfortable chairs they can sit in while they enjoy reading books of their choice.

My Students

This school year, I have been blessed with a very enthusiastic bunch of fifth graders who are eager to learn. The only thing that seems to stand in their way is the label of being economically challenged. Not having the proper finances, often keeps my students from having proper or sufficient class materials, money for field trips and sometimes it even prevents them from having the proper reading or class materials to take home to complete assignments.

My Scholars have a passion for knowledge, and a desire to be educated and independent as 21st Century Learners!

My Project

This year in 5th grade, we are introducing a new Reading program. One component in this program is time for students to read without being interrupted for a max amount of time.

Lounging while Reading will make Self Selected Reading time more engaging for students.

I feel that if students have the option to lounge in these cool chairs while reading, they will enjoy it more than having to sit in their desks. Having these chairs will keep students excited about this time in the day when they get to pick a book or their choice, sit in a chair of their choice and just READ!
