My students are from a rural school. What amazes me about them in how involved they all are. They don't just participate in one extra-curricular activity, but MULTIPLE extra-curricular activities. Sharing in a must between teachers and coaches to make it a successful experience for the students. Their time management skills never cease to amaze me.
What also impresses me with my students is the growth mindset they bring into my classroom each day.
At rehearsals, I frequently ask them to think and perform "out-of-the-box". Their mindset has helped them refine their skills and make substantial growth already since the start of the year.
When we are practicing music, the drumline currently only has two options for playing their instrument – one is they use their harness with gets heavy and can create muscle soreness after an extended time; the other option is that they put them on the floor/ground to play. This can cause bad habits with technique as the drums are not at the correct height.
By providing students with these stands, they will be able to play with proper technique and not have to worry about extended harness wear and sore muscles.
The stands can also be used to provide more drummers the opportunity to play during pep band nights as it gives them a better set-up for extended playing periods.
These stands will be able to be used and enjoyed by many for many years!
