Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school located in a low-social economic neighborhood near Downtown Los Angeles, 100 percent of the student population qualify for the free or reduced lunch program.
The students in my classroom are students with learning disabilities but they come to school everyday with a great big smile on their faces.
My class is made up of students with a range of disabilities, such as Autism, Intellectually Delayed, Health Impairments, and Specific Learning Disabilities. Many of them have physical challenges as well that impair their learning but they come to school eager to learn and take on new challenges.
My Project
My students are eager to learn and have stepped up to new challenges during distant learning these last couple of months to the best of their abilities. I am asking for a Okiacam document reader that will allow my student to see what I am presenting to them clearly. My students with Autism need to be guided in a step by step manner in order to process the information presented to them and this webcam will allow my students to follow along in an engaging and effective manner. The noise cancellation headset will also assist them to hear me loud and clear since they help eliminate surrounding sounds that interfere with instruction. Finally, the student headsets will enable students to focus on the speaker while they are receiving online instruction. These resources will greatly impact my students learning while also helping them manage their anxiety from having to learn in a different setting and manner.
