Help me give my students quality headphones to ensure everyone is able to hear appropriately and their hearing experiences will be the best it can be.
We have many websites we visit throughtout the week.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students here live in a low socio-economic neighborhood. Our school provides free breakfast and lunch for all students. The school also has a food pantry that provides food for needy families and distributes this food as needed.
We also have a couple of programs available to us that help provide shoes and glasses to needy families.
We are also a Title 1 school where funding is provided to meet students many needs. It is a challenging neighborhood to work in but very rewarding.
Sixty percent of my students are English Language Learners.
My Project
At present we do not have a full class set of working headphones. Many of our headphones have a problem with volume control. It causes disruption while we are using our tablets.
The benefits for each child having their own assigned headphone will allow for each student to be more productive.
Each student will be able to begin their online assignments quickly. It will also provide a quiet and private sound in their ear and environment. These headphones will bring a sense of ownership of their learning and limit their distractions.
Having a class set of headphones would make a huge difference in the learning in our class.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
