My students are enthusiastic and eager to explore the world around them. They love creating, building, imagining, exploring, singing, dancing, and moving! We are a class community that loves to learn together.
I teach 20 preschool students in a self-contained special education classroom.
We are working to develop speech and language skills, social skills, academic/cognitive skills, fine and gross motor skills, and independent functioning skills. Incorporating hands-on materials and movement keep my students engaged and curious. Learning should be fun!
My Project
I just had a project funded through donorschoose.org! My classroom just received a light table and my students are overjoyed! They love creating many things on the light table using magna-tiles.
My students would love to expand their learning with other materials at the light table.
Translucent letters and numbers will help the students learn what each is named. The sensory bin and materials will help them form the letters and numbers as they write in the sensory materials. We can use translucent bugs and pattern blocks to practice patterning and counting.
My students love science and would love to use the light table to look at x-rays of people, animals, and insects.
The children also love building with blocks. They would love to see their buildings lit up on the light table with the crystal building blocks.
