Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a small, diverse community. They come with an enormous range of abilities, backgrounds, and struggles. I am hoping that this year, they can learn to trust their own abilities and discover how to grow as a reader and a person.
Our school is in a small town and has very limited resources.
We work hard to instill academic values into the hearts of students, many of whom have not yet discovered the joy and importance of education. Many of the students have an abundance of energy and creativity and through reading, I hope to access those qualities.
My Project
I want my students to have a wide variety of books to choose from that are very high interest. The books I've chosen are amazing books that I think will pique the interest of even the most reluctant readers!
I have read quite a few of these books from the library over the summer and loved them so much that I just HAD to get them for my students.
They are relevant books that many of my students have requested specifically plus many new books I know they would like!
My students and I would greatly appreciate you donating to give us books that will improve their reading and curiosity in the world and other people.
