This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is desperately in need of chair pocket organizers. This is because my school recently got new desks for all classrooms. Now you would think as a teacher I would be ecstatic for my learning scholars to sit at new desks, right? Unfortunately not these desks. There is now less storage for their books and folders so my kiddos are constantly losing papers, books, and other materials. At times our classroom floor looks like a tornado came through because of all the desk contents sticking out or scattered on the floor. And most importantly lost is time as I have to wait for students to find lost items that should have been tucked neatly into a desk.

Chair pocket organizers will help my students organize their materials better so whenever I ask them to take out this book or that paper their reply will no longer be, "I lost it" but "I found it."

In addition, we are learning real world money matters such as banking, buying, and saving. The requested cash register and stand will give my students real learning experiences with everyday math by saving and controlling money in order to buy items. All their materials used for this will no longer be lost but now found when placed in their new chair pocket organizers.
