My 3rd grade classroom needs headphones to help them become more successful learners. These headphones will eliminate unnecessary noises and loss of learning due to the sounds of online learning.
To begin, I teach a separate morning Response To Intervention Club for readers in need.
It begins with an audible program that needs headphones. I love to see the amazing growth in students who are learning to read more succesfully. These students come from multiple different classrooms and multiple grades. They carry their Chromebooks and earbuds with them to my class. All students begin on devices with an audible phonics program as I small groups with individual learners. However, we deal with great loss of time as we try to deal with broken, knotted, or lost earbuds on a daily basis. All of these students are struggling to hear their program and my lessons without headphones.
Secondly, I also have two blocks of 25 students, learning 3rd grade math and science. We often use Chromebooks in class with those aforementioned broken, missing earbuds. Students are on multiple levels of learning; some on programs, some on makeup work, some on audible books. Our classroom turns into a hubbub of very loud noises. This makes learning much harder than it should be for all involved.
Thirdly, I know if I can assign each student a set of headphones and leave it in my class, all students will have a much more successful learning environment. All learners will be able to concentrate and learn more successfully.
In closing, all my students will be more succesful at learning when we have the use of individual headphones to minimize the sounds of online learning.
