My students are 8 to 9-year-olds with a mix of students with special education requirements and students at general ed level.
We are a Title I school, and the students come from low-income homes, but they are my wonderful learners.
They come in every day with challenges, and I am excited to make their day better. Some students in the class deal with homelessness, some have to fend for themselves at home while parents are working, and some live with other family members who are raising them. My kids deserve the best, and I want to give it to them. Unfortunately, I can’t do it alone.
This upcoming school year, I have been given an amazing chance to move from 2nd to 3rd grade with my students. This is so exciting for me, but since I have never taught 3rd grade before, I am in need of resources for my classroom.
This will be my first year teaching 3rd, so it's like starting all over.
I have chosen a number of great workbooks and online tools for my classroom, such as Flocabulary, IXL workbooks, and Spectrum books. I also added an amazing resource, Scholastic Kids. With these materials, I know I can assure my class will have everything they need to succeed in 3rd grade. This is a critical year, the first year of state testing.
Please help me ensure these kids are ready to go in 3rd grade!
