This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are all very eager and enthusiastic about learning. They come to school ready and are engaged in the lessons that are presented in class. They are very drawn to images and respond positively to color images in the classroom. This helps them visualize and understand better!
My students are all bilingual and in 5th grade (majority about 10-11 years old).
The school is a bilingual public school, which can be very hard to come by. We recite the school pledge in both languages throughout the week and pride ourselves in being to be both bilingual AND biliterate.
My Project
This printer would be used in a variety of capacities! In reading, students will be able to have see pictures and images in the classroom to help them comprehend texts in the whole class or small group. More color images will be used for vocabulary words in both Spanish literacy as well as math.
This printer would make our classroom a lot more lively and provide a fun and engaging environment for students.
They will be able to have more access to content in more ways than written text. Sometimes, black and white images simply do not suffice (imagine describing the stone turquoise to students or that the sky is blue with a black and white picture).
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
