My Project

I would love to start a fall and spring Second Grade Book Club for students in our school. Studies show that book clubs help increase students' reading skills by allowing them to focus on comprehension and vocabulary. It allows them to make connections to the texts they are reading, themselves and the world. It helps stimulate their imaginations and can create a passion for reading.

Many of the students in our school are not able to purchase these books on their own, and our library cannot afford to purchase them, either.

So, a project like this will ensure that students have access to well-reviewed books they will enjoy. Hopefully, being in a book club also will create a positive school experience for our students.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
