My Project

I work with students with disabilities. Most of my students lead sheltered lives and are always with their families. Many don't get to go out to play in the park by themselves or walk to the store, everything is with the family.

My students need to learn how to function in the real world and learn skills to help them become independent and communicate with others.

We teach work skills, home skills, and everyday life skills in school, like hand washing, clearing a table, and unpacking book bags. Stuffed animals provide the help to talk to someone or practice talking. By providing stuffed animals, students have a sensory item to hold and use, it also helps us teach responsibility to our students such as clean up, put away and help...
