My students need microscope slides that are pre-mounted with different microorganisms to be viewed under microscopes.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember the first time you looked under a microscope and were captivated by the amazing microscopic world that existed in the universe around us? My students are not yet able to adequately experience this same captivation.
My students are amazing individuals that have amazing potential to do many great things in the world.
These students are located in an area that is heavily influenced by gangs, violence, poverty, and drugs. They find sanctuary in this school, as it is the only area in their lives that does not reflect the hardships that children should never have to face. These students look forward to science class as a place to explore and investigate the world around them.
My Project
These slide resources will help open the minds of these students to the micro-world that surrounds them. They will be able to view microscopic organisms under the microscope, which previously has been nearly impossible due to broken and irrelevant slides that are currently in stock. The students will be able to learn the different parts of the cell, how animal and plant cells compare, and be able to investigate the various organisms that exist in the world.
I feel this project will help spark intrigue and scientific investigation in the minds of the students.
This will create a memorable experience which will be used to help build on other topics during their science course.
