Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hi Supporters, My Class is embarking on a new fashion journey. We are a title one school from the east side of Las Vegas. I mention this because many of our students don't have the means to buy and wear the fashions they see on tv and in film. This class will change that for them. The Students will learn to design, pattern, cut, and sew anything they can think of. This class will teach and reinforce many important skills. Including learning different fabric materials, such as cottons, leathers, etc. Measuring and paying attention to small detail(which enhances math skills). we will also look at the business side of the fashion industry and their impact on our planet, from the environment and economy to the influencer impact from social media. Fashion is important to our kids. Please take the time to think how important just "fitting in" is for children today. Clothing should be the least of their worries. Together you and I can make a positive difference in lives of our future.
