Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I campus in Texas. We excel in a low-income/high-poverty area. Roughly 90% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. We are comprised of ESL, SPED, dyslexic, and advanced learners. Our demographics include mostly Hispanic and African American children.

They have a passion for learning and a thirst for knowledge that is truly inspiring.

They desire to further themselves academically. We regularly set and reach attainable goals concerning their most recent testing data. My kiddos amaze me!

My Project

We must upgrade for our students. Covid has made a huge impact on education. Now, more than ever, we must be very intentional with our instruction and our classroom environment. Our students require emotional and academic support. These items will provide my classroom an upgrade to support my students. We are looking forward to all the learning that will continue to happen. We are looking forward to and are preparing for our students to be back in the classroom. In order for them to be successful, they need the right tools in their hands! My learners need headphones with microphones in order to be successful on the many programs we utilize to individualize their instruction. When everyone is speaking at the same time, the background noise affects the program's ability to accurately analyze their work. Accurate recordings of their work submission are vital to continue tailoring our lessons for their unique needs. My goal is to have every LEP student grow a level in the TELPAS test and every student grows a full year's worth of instruction in our district benchmark testing. Having headphones with microphones will help my students be successful!
