My Students

Listening to learn! A 21st century listening center is what we need.

My students come from all different backgrounds and are several different races, but in our classroom we are a family of learners working together.

My students care about each other and their successes as if they were kin. Our school is in a small town in southeastern Oklahoma. We are a title I school.

My Project

My students can use this wireless listening center to hear examples of modeled reading from different materials and voices. They listen to me daily modeling reading, but to listen to different voices and accents would be great. Our listening center will also provide an enjoyable form of listening to fluency, making predictions, and phonemic awareness.

Donations to this project would be beneficial because it otherwise wouldn't be purchased.

It is more than we can spend at the end of the year on supplies. Reading is so important to young learners, it is important that they get a good start to build on. This would help my students realize that reading can be and is an enjoyable activity.
