My Students

I am a school counselor in a Pre-K to 8 school located in Brooklyn, New York and I work with children who are in need of academic and social emotional support. Many of my students are from low income families or living in shelters. They are in situations that sometimes cause them to feel angry, upset or depressed and they often have no outlet or people to go to for support.

My Project

These resources will help us open conversations and help them share with myself and each other enabling them to make friendship and gain a support system. Teaching them how to handle their feelings sections will assist them in being able to remain calm and focused in class and the school environment

The cards and books will be tools to help facilitate group discussions and individual sessions.

The games and other materials will be used among the students to help engage them, open communication and have fun at the same time.
