This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are mostly from lower-income households, where their families are either struggling to get by or experiencing the hardships of mothers, fathers, and even siblings living apart from one another, many times in another country. They end up in our schools with a variety of needs, oftentimes not speaking the language, having any family near, or sometimes sharing living quarters with relative strangers.

Our students are immigrants and minorities, many of whom come with very little by way of money or experience and need something to keep them motivated and excited to keep coming to school every day.

We love them all the same, and so we decided to create a baseball team that will allow them to develop bonds with others who have similar interests, on a baseball diamond where the grass is always green and it isn't over until the fat lady sings.

My Project

Our team is composed of high-needs students and they oftentimes don't have much by way of money or resources. This baseball glove will allow the team and its players to have a long-lasting quality glove which our infielders of the present and future will all benefit from if we receive them. Many of them share gloves already making practice sometimes uncomfortable and embarrassing for those who don't own any. I want to be able to provide all my students and players with an opportunity to play baseball and utilize the team equipment proudly and without shame because they don't have the resources to have a baseball glove. Please help our baseball team out with these training baseballs so they can work on pitching and get stronger as athletes on and off the field.
