This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

People need to be heard especially if you are fighting the good fight for people's rights, their civil rights! Loud and Clear!

My students are high poverty, but eager to learn, young adults who have little exposure to financial literacy and economics education.

They are middle school students who have very little exposure to the importance of understanding how and why financial education is important.

My Project

My students will be able to sit down at one of our learning stations and will be able to listen and watch different videos and speeches that I have programmed into the iPods I am requesting, so they can see how the civil rights movement of the 1950's and 1960's started out with one woman defying an injustice and how this snowballed into a national movement. My students will see that one person can make a difference! They will also e able to listen to our class civil rights audiobooks with the help of a portable speaker device.

So many of my students do not feel they have a voice and if they use it they are not sure for what purpose or how they should direct their feels of injustices.

By examining the past and engaging in meaningful dialog, my students will start to recognize how they can become leaders in their community and change injustices they see every day! Thank you for considering my class project with the integration of technology via speaker and ipod.
