Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

"Can I get a book?" is one of the most common questions my students ask every day. These eager readers are part of my kindergarten/1st grade classroom of an inner-city public school in a high-need community in Maryland. Our school has a mission of "excellence" and we work hard to give our students our best!

My students are just beginning their lives as readers and continue to demonstrate their absolute love of reading every day. This is a critical year for these emerging readers, and I work hard to make sure their innate love of books and learning continues to grow. A leveled library, where students can choose a book that will help them learn at an appropriate pace for their individual needs, is necessary to reach this goal.

The leveled library and read-along kits are the perfect solution. The books are pre-leveled and clearly marked. My students will be able to pick a book that is perfect for them as they grow in ability all year long!

The wonderful world of reading can take a child to so many amazing places, and you will forever be a part of that by making a donation! Just imagine. . . your contribution will help so many children grow into great readers!!
