Lonely Chess Board Needs Some Friends

My Project

Our chess club is comprised of 34 students across all middle grades 6th,7th and 8th. The items that I am requesting are crucial for creating a more tournament style environment which will help them prepare for competing against other school clubs in tournaments.

My goals for this project are to provide the chess club with enough matching chess boards and timers that they will eventually be able to host their own matches against other schools/clubs.

Our chess club is brand new, and was started by two 6th grade students who wanted the opportunity to share their love of chess with their peers. Our membership is comprised of students from all walks of life, and grade levels. This diversity strengthens the clubs ability to learn from one and other. This club is teaching the students critical thinking, and interpersonal skills that will prove valuable in all their future endeavours.
