My Project

Each and every child in our school has access to and uses my classroom. The library. It is a place we can collaborate, learn, grow, and inquire. This project has the potential to reach every child in our school. Children are naturally inquisitive. They have the ability to solve problems. However, sometimes the enormity of problems they face can tend to discourage them from pressing on with that innate ability to seek solutions. Our student population is well above 50% African American as well as low socio-economic status. It often feels as though the cards are stacked against them.

This project aims to provide elementary age students with logic puzzles and games to bring back the fun of problem solving while allowing them to build confidence in their own problem solving skills, hopefully creating some GRIT in them in the process!

Helping my students in the library find fun ways to learn and grow is a passion of mine, and I am grateful for the opportunity to find others who share and support my students in this endeavor.
