My Project

I would like to start a puzzle club at my school. I envision this club as an inclusive space in which all scholars who enjoy puzzles and mysteries can come together to problem-solve, laugh, and grow in logic skills. Puzzles are fun and engaging gateway activities to develop key life skills.

Middle school students enjoy solving mysteries, completing puzzles, and experiencing a reveal.

I have selected materials that are engaging to wide-range of middle school interests. I have puzzle activities that can create social opportunities between scholars who may not speak the same language, such as speed cubes, traditional puzzles, and mosaics. I have speed cubes of varying difficulty so that scholars can practice solving cube puzzles; these are very popular with students. I have traditional puzzles for scholars to socialize while working in groups to complete together, and to develop spatial reasoning skills. Mosaics provide a "reveal" as students color by number or complete a sticker mosaic; students love to guess what the picture is going to be. I have also selected board games that are puzzle and mystery based, mini mystery stories to read and solve, and brainteasers.

These selected actvities will appeal to a wide range of students and include art based "mysteries," hands on puzzle challenges, literacy-based mysteries, math puzzles, codes to solve, and board games. Scholars will have fun while strenthening cognitive development, logical reasoning, spatial awareness, collaborative problem-solving, and perseverance.
