Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In a world where technology is always around us, it is important to provide students with a lot of practice and guidance in navigating the Internet to find the information they're looking for.
My students attend a Title 1 specialized school for students with severe disabilities in the South Bronx.
My students have a variety of disabilities (and abilities) and most learn best using a multimedia approach. Many students in my class don't have access to the Internet at home and struggle to use the internet in a functional way at school. Most of them don't even know how to "Google" a topic, which is pretty unimaginable in today's world!
Technology is naturally motivating for my students and they love to learn about new things and current events. They constantly ask me to look at the news on our classroom computer and enjoy completing research as a group with computers.
My Project
By donating to this project, you will provide 4 Chromebooks. You will help twelve amazing students learn with technology and the Internet. You will help them gain the skills they need to be successful young adults, both in school and in the future workplace. You will literally open up a whole new world for my students. We will be able to research and explore topics to give students the ability to make more informed opinions and choices.
Can you imagine a workplace or place of higher education without basic technology such as laptops?
This is the struggle that we are facing each day in my school. Your donation will help give my students the skills and experience that they need to reach their highest potential!
