I teach 12 wonderful students in a self-contained special education classroom. My students are in grades 3-5 and each one brings something special to our classroom. My students have a variety of disabilities, likes, strengths, and impressive qualities. Even though each student is different in their own way, they are the kindest and most inclusive group of young people you could ever encounter. :) Our school is 100% special education. Students are placed in our school because they require a lot of personal support in order to reach their full potential. Our students typically fall into three categories: those with autism, those with emotional disturbances, and those with multiple handicaps. Most of the students at our school qualify for the free lunch program and our school is devastated with budget cuts and lack of funding. Therefore, it's difficult to get necessary materials for our students.
