Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning." -Plato

The music room is a safe and nurturing environment where students come to express themselves through the fundamentals of music.

We focus on both classical and contemporary music with a large emphasis on music of other countries and cultures. Through music, students learn life skills such as cooperation, organization, time management, determination, and patience. I am a firm believer that I teach kids; music is just my medium.

My Project

Musical instruments are expensive, but an investment in the future of the young musicians. Many students rent their instruments from a local music vendor while others have purchased one. Some students are renting school-owned instruments. The students should be able to leave their instruments, music, folders, and other supplies in the instrument storage room with the assurance that no one will damage or take their personal property. I am asking for 250 Control Key locks to keep instruments safe.

Instrument maintenance and repair can also be expensive.

By securing instruments in locked storage cabinets, students decrease the possibility of someone accessing their personal or rented instruments that might result in damage.

The band room is a safe a nurturing environment where students should feel confident that their personal property is securely stored.
