Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are young adults with autism and developmental disabilities who are learning about how to become successful, independent young adults. They are going to job experiences, learning how to use public transportation, how to access the community and all the various supports and services in the community, how to shop, cook, and care for themselves as much as possible. They love their newfound independence and are thriving!

One of the main components of our classroom is teaching daily living skills and social skills needed for successful life as a young adult.

Due to my projects being funded to support both social skills and personal hygiene, my classroom now needs a locking cabinet to keep all of these wonderful supplies safe and sound when not in use.

My Project

Storage is non-existent in our location!

All of the materials that have been purchased - need a place to live when not in use.

Unfortunately - the building we are in is a community building and the door to the classroom is not always locked. I want to ensure that all of the materials and supplies that are available to the students in are program - remain available. Therefore we are requesting 2 locking cabinets. Please help us keep all of our materials safe and at the students fingertips by funding the cabinets requested.
