This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"Llama, Llama, No School Drama" has been the theme for our social emotional learning lessons (SEL) every morning. I like to start the day off with an SEL lesson. With our motto "Llama, Llama, No School Drama" we have talked about the importance of talking things out before things escalate. Finding ways to manage our feelings and channel our emotions into healthy and respectful ways that benefit ourselves and others. We have created emotion llamas in different colors that represent our different emotions.

I want different llama-themed art projects and games that I can set up in our SEL center for times when students need a little alone time to de-escalate from a frustrating moment.

I also want to make a center space and time when they can socialize with a friend and engage in activities that will enhance their social skills. I also think having everyday tools like erasers and letterhead with llamas will be a fun way to keep students engaged and keep the lessons present in their minds throughout the day.
