My Project
The students in my combined 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade groups are always engaged in various builds and STEM challenges throughout the year. 21st-century learners gravitate towards more and more implementation of technology within their builds. They still enjoy the use of 'older' consumable materials (e.g., cardboard, paper, tape, piper cleaners, etc), but the incorporation of designing, building, and seeing their creation come to life in a 3-D printer pushes their thinking and designing skills even further.
The collaboration and teamwork that would go into completing 3-D printing tasks and challenges would truly strengthen my students' engineering abilities and allow them to reach their goals of becoming self-sufficient 21st-century thinkers and learners.
