This project supports student- led biography projects that celebrate the lives of individuals from Oklahoma. These materials will allow the students to research and create presentations to share with peers and the community. The crafting materials will be used to create engaging presentations for their peers. The biography books will help students research their historical figure. The standing desk will be used as a podium for students to have a place to stand their presentations up and present to their peers.
The project encourages critical thinking, cultural appreciation, and writing skills.
It creates a space where students can learn from each other. We are excited to learn more from the diverse people that have helped shape the past and present of Oklahoma.
This initiative not only deepens students' connection to their heritage and community- it ensures the stories of everyday heroes, pioneers, elders, and change-makers are remembered and shared for generations to come!
